sharing a love of colour and wild places

My mission is to create art that helps us connect with our most authentic selves and our essential humanity. I also hope you will love the forest as much as I do, because it needs our love.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Susan G Abbott has been exhibiting since 2001, and is currently represented by ArtMatch.ca.

Her focus is on mixed-media works that build up in layers using acrylic paints, pastels, oil pastels, charcoal and graphite, and collage papers that she makes herself, sometimes using printmaking processes such as gelliplates or linocut. Pieces often incorporate stamped elements, from stamps she carves.

Susan’s art education has been from numerous studio classes and workshops as well as private study. Formerly a business consultant, she now works at her art full-time when not enjoying nature directly from her kayak.

Living and working in Toronto, Canada, she is active with the Don Valley Art Club.

“Your work is engrossing.  So much feeling.  And then when I read about several of the pieces, such a novel way to represent climate change.”

“I am loving my “moondance.”   It has a special spot in my office.”
